The Belleville Police Service responded to 45 calls between December 2nd, 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and December 3rd, 2018 at 5:00 a.m.


Belleville, ON – Belleville Police responded to a complaint of a theft from a north end department store at 9:02 a.m.  Loss prevention officers were following the 49 year-old suspect who had earrings in his pocket and was leaving the store without paying.  He was arrested and released at the scene for the criminal offence of theft under $5000, requiring to appear in provincial court on January 10th, 2019.

Animal Complaint

Belleville, ON Police received information regarding two aggressive dogs roaming in the city’s east end at 5:33 p.m. Units responded to the area; however, did not locate the animals.  They were last seen in the area of Herchimer Avenue and Bridge Street East shortly before 6:00 p.m.  It was discovered that three individuals were bitten by the dogs and received medical treatment at Quinte Health Care for their injuries.  The dogs were eventually located and secured at Quinte Humane Society for quarantine purposes.  If there are unreported incidents involving these animals where individuals were bit from last evening, please contact Cst Lacey Montgomery 613 966 0882 x 4186.  The investigation is ongoing.
