Prowl at Night
Belleville, Ontario - On January 4, 2010, at 12:35 a.m., police arrested a 30 year old Belleville man with Prowl by Night. The male was observed on getting off his bike in front of a residence on Strachan Street. He was then observed walking into the back yard of the property.
On arrival police located the male standing near an ATV parked on the east side of the property. A further check revealed the male was on probation and was therefore charged with Breach of Probation as well as Trespass by Night. The male was released on a Promise to Appear with a February court date.
Prowl at Night
Belleville, Ontario - On January 4, 2010, at 2:30 a.m., police received information that two males dressed in dark clothing were attempting to gain entry to a vehicles parked on Keller Drive. The males were described as wearing dark hooded jackets; dark pants and both were described as youths.
Police followed two sets of tracks in the snow from the vehicles on Keller Drive to several back and front yards on Selena Dr, Dundas Street West and Palmer Road.
The two males were located on Palmer road and arrested by police for Prowl by Night. A 15 year old Belleville male was charged with one count of Prowl by Night and one count of Failure to Comply with Sentence/Disposition. He was released with a court date set in February 2010.
Belleville, Ontario ? On January 4, 2010, at 9:10 p.m., police responded to a 911 call in the east end of Belleville where the caller asked for help just before the line went dead.
A 43 year old Tweed male was located at the house alone with the victim. Further investigation resulted in the male being arrested and charged with one count of Assault. He was held in custody for a Bail Hearing. The victim received minor injuries as a result of this assault.
Theft & Fraud
Belleville, Ontario ? On January 4, 2010, police received a call regarding two female shoplifters at Walmart. The investigation revealed the two females attempted to return three items to the store with a total value of $305.06. When requested, the two were not able to produce a store receipt for these items. As the Walmart loss prevention officers were in the process of investigating the return of the items, the two females left the store. The two were apprehended outside the store as they were attempting to leave the parking lot. A 27 year old Cobourg female and a 49 year old Belleville woman were arrested and charged with one count each of Fraud and Theft Under. Both were released and will appear in court in March 2010.
