Break, enter and theft

Belleville, Ontario – On May 3rd, 2013, at 11:15 a.m.., police attended at a residence on Turnbull St. in relation to a stolen purse. The homeowner advised that a man came to her door at around 7:00 p.m. on May 2nd. This man asked for a glass of water, and she complied with this request after allowing him inside. A description of this male including his clothing and backpack were provided to the officer. The officer was checking the property on foot looking for the discarded purse when the suspect emerged from a nearby residence. The suspect was arrested and the victim's wallet and money were located inside his backpack. 51 year old Michael Joseph Littleton of Belleville was charged with break, enter and theft. He will appear in court on May 30th. The purse was later recovered at Canada Post as the suspect had discarded the purse into a Canada Post mailbox.

Disturbances

Belleville, Ontario –On May 3rd, 2013, at 3:45 p.m. police attended at a Coleman Street residence in relation to a disturbance. A 44 year old Kingston man was arrested for breach of the peace. Alcohol was a factor in this incident, and there were no injuries.

On May 4th, 2013, at 1:30 a.m. police attended on Progress Avenue in relation to a fight call. A 20 year old Belleville man was arrested at the scene. He was charged with breach of probation as a result of alcohol consumption. He will appear in court on June 6th. No one was injured.

On May 4th, 2013, at 2:51 a.m. police attended at a North Front Street motel in relation to a broken window. A 39 year old Belleville man was arrested for public intoxication.

On May 4th, 2013, at 3:15 a.m. police attended at a disturbance on North Front Street. One of the involved parties had produced a knife. A 29 year old Belleville man was arrested for public intoxication. No one was injured in this incident.

On May 4th, 2013, at 3:27 a.m. police attended on Maple Drive as a homeowner was reporting that a man was passed out on his front steps. A 25 year old Hamilton man was arrested for public intoxication.

On May 4th, 2013, at 5:00 a.m., police attended at a Station Street residence in relation to an unwanted male. A 49 year old Belleville man was arrested for public intoxication.
