Belleville, Ontario ? On July 4, 2011 at 6:00 p.m., homeowners on Murney Street came home to find their house had been entered. Entry was gained through a west side window of the home sometime between 2:24 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Nothing was found to be taken from the home however suspects left a knife behind. This Break & Enter is currently under investigation.

Theft from Motor Vehicle ? YOUTH Arrested

Belleville, Ontario ? On July 4, 2011 at 10:20 p.m., a witness observed a male going through a vehicle on Plaza Square in the east end of Belleville. Police were called and a short time later a 16 year old male was arrested in the area. The male was found to be in possession of a number of stolen items. A Belleville youth was subsequently charged with one count each of Possession of Stolen Property, Prowl by Night and Theft Under $5000. He was later released in the care of his parents with a court date set in August 2011.

The name of the youth will not be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.


Belleville, Ontario ? On July 4, 2011 at 4:25 p.m., police responded to a call for service in the west end of Belleville. The victim and suspect had been involved in a dispute off and on for most of the day. At one point the suspect used a knife to cut several window screens in the home. When the victim advised that she would call police the suspect ran towards her with the knife. The suspect threatened to harm the victim, her family and the family dog.

As a result a 23 year old Belleville male was arrested and charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm. He is being held in custody awaiting a bail hearing set for July 5, 2011.

The name of the charged person will not be released as to protect the identification the victim and her family.
