Belleville, Ontario ?On June 5, 2010, at approximately 6:47 PM a 45 year old male was riding a bicycle westbound on College St. West near Heartwood Drive. The male struck the curb and was thrown from the bicycle landing on the concrete sidewalk. The rider was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious life threatening head injuries. The male was transported to Belleville General Hospital and transferred to Kingston General Hospital for treatment. Advanced Collision Reconstructionists and the Forensic Identification Unit were on scene for several hours conducting the detailed investigation. Belleville, Ontario ? On June 5, 2010, police received a report of two suspicious persons in the area of Finch Drive. The witness woke to hear a car alarm going off. He observed two males going through a vehicle and as a result phoned police. A short time later two males were arrested in the area by police and both were found to be in possession of stolen property.
Charged with one count of Possession of Stolen Property is a 15 year old Belleville male and charged with one count each of Possession of Stolen Property and Obstruct Police is a 17 year old Belleville male. Both were released with a court date set in July 2010. The names of the youths cannot be released due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Belleville, Ontario ? On June 4, 2010 a resident on Lewis Street reported a Beak & Enter to his apartment. The front door of the apartment was pried and money was taken.
Belleville, Ontario ? On June 5, 2010, at approximately 0500 hrs police were called to 230 Front Street to assist the Belleville Fire Department with a structure fire at that location. In conjunction with the Belleville Fire Department, officers with the Forensic Identification Unit were on scene, and Detectives with the Belleville Police Service's Criminal Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding this fire.
