Sexual Assault

Belleville, Ontario ? On 1 May, 2011 at approximately 2:50 a.m. police attended in the area of Prince of Wales Drive and College Street East in response to a report of a sexual assault.

The victim reported that while walking east bound on College Street East she was attacked from behind and forced to the ground. The victim struggled and called out for assistance. Two nearby males heard the pleas for help and came to assist the victim. At that time, the male attacker fled east bound on foot and was last seen at the intersection of College Street, East and Moira Street.

The attacker is described as a white male, 28 to 30 years, approximately 6' tall, and 170 to 180 lbs. This male has short brown hair and was wearing a black jacket and a ball cap.

This ball cap is described as an official NHL Old Time Hockey hat (dark grey with a pinstripe and has a white/black combination of the Boston Bruins emblem on the front and side of the hat).

Belleville Police Service is asking for the public's assistance in indentifying this male and requesting that anyone with any information that may assist in this investigation to call Staff Sergeant Patterson at Belleville Police Service 613 966 0882 ext 2353 or Crime Stoppers at 613 969 8477.
