Weapons Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 6:21 pm on May 4, 2013 police were called to a Church Street residence to investigate a report that a male at that location had hidden a firearm inside the home. The investigation led to the recovery of a rifle and the arrest of the male suspect who did not have a firearm licence. A 19 year old Belleville man was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was held for a Bail Hearing. He faces the following charges:

  1. Breach of Probation ( two counts )
  2. Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
  3. Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Crime
  4. Unsafe Storage of a Firearm
  5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

Intoxicated Person Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 11:50 pm on May 4, 2013 an officer on routine patrol noticed a man staggering and falling from the sidewalk onto the roadway in the College Street / North Front Street area of the city. The man was found to be intoxicated and was arrested at the scene for his own protection and brought to the Belleville Police Service. A 43 year old Belleville man faces a charge of Public Intoxication and was later released on a Provincial Offence Notice.

Domestic Dispute Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 12:17 am on May 5, 2013 police were called to the Wicket Street / Catharine Street area to investigate a report of a domestic occurring between a male and female on the sidewalk. Both parties were located in the area and as a result of the investigation the male was arrested for assault and transported to the Belleville Police Service. A 29 year old Belleville man faces a charge of assault and was released from custody on a Promise to Appear and an Officer in Charge Undertaking with a court date of May 27, 2013. His name will not be released in order to protect the identity of the victim who suffered minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

Mischief Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 12:27 am on May 5, 2013 police were called to the Frank Street / Union Street area to investigate a report of vandalism. The complainant had observed a male youth spray painting his car on Ava Court and had followed him to Frank Street where he held him until police arrived. The youth was arrested for Mischief and transported to the Belleville Police Service. The investigation revealed that four cars had been vandalized in this manner. A 15 year old Belleville male was later charged with four counts of Mischief Under $5000 and released to the custody of his mother on a Promise to Appear with a court date of June 11, 2013. His name can not be released under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Intoxicated Person Belleville, Ontario.

At approximately 1:27 am on May 5, 2013 officers were called to the Bridge Street West / Highland Avenue area of the city to investigate a report of a disturbance. The investigation led to the arrest of a 42 year old Belleville woman who was found to be intoxicated. She was transported to the Belleville Police Service for her own protection and later released on a Provincial Offence Notice charged with Public Intoxication.
