Breach of Recognizance

Belleville, Ontario On Sunday, November 4th 2012 at 5:58 pm, police responded to a disturbance on Mary Street. Information received was that five males, three wearing masks, showed up in the parking lot of a complex in the area. On police arrival, all of the male suspects fled on foot. A short time later, police observed one of the male suspects and a foot pursuit ensued. The male was taken into custody a short distance away from the original disturbance and was found to be in possession of a weapon. Police investigation revealed that the male was on a bail recognizance. As a result, an 18 year old Belleville man has been charged with three counts of Breaching conditions and one count of Weapons Dangerous and is being held for a bail hearing November 5th. This investigation is continuing.


Belleville, Ontario On Sunday, November 4th, 2012 at 7:52 pm, police took a complaint of a theft. Between 4:00 and 5:00 pm, unknown suspect(s) stole a cell phone from a change room while the victim was playing hockey in a local arena on Cannifton Road. A short time later, police took a second complaint of a similar theft of a cell phone from the same change room. This investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service or Crimestoppers.

Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario On Monday, November 5, 2012 at 2:48 am, police responded to a residence on Dufferin Avenue in regards to a break and enter. The homeowner awakened to the suspect in the residence and called out startling the suspect who fled the home. Police investigation revealed that the suspect had entered the residence through a kitchen window and that nothing had been taken. This investigation is continuing.
