The Belleville Police responded to 60 calls for service between the 4th of December, 2018 at 0500 hrs. and the 5th of December, 2018 at 0500 hrs.

Break and Enter

Belleville, ON -  On the 4th of December, 2018 at 1030 hrs., officers attended on Moira St E with regard to a male trying to break into a house with a sledge hammer. Police arrived on scene and located the male walking down the street. The male was arrested. Jarrod Brinkert, 31 years of age from Belleville, was charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house, break and enter with intent, and mischief under 5000.00 dollars. He had a bail hearing on the 4th of December and was remanded to the Quinte Detention Center.


Belleville, ON - On the 4th of December, 2018 at 2045 hrs., a female entered a business on Bell Blvd and attempted to leave with a substantial amount of merchandise in a bag without paying. She was confronted by store staff who managed to get most of the property back. She then fled the scene in a vehicle. Officers attended the business and observed video of the female along with getting a very accurate description of her . At 2230 hrs., an officer patrolling on North Front St observed the female on foot south of College St . The female was arrested. Melissa Allin, a 40 year-old female from Belleville, was charged with one count of theft under 5000.00 dollars. She was released on an appearance notice with a court date in January.
