The Belleville Police Service responded to 50 calls for service between May 4th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and May 5th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Traffic stops

Belleville, Ontario – On May 4th 2019, at 7:22 a.m., an officer initiated a traffic stop on Old Hwy 2.  The male driver was charged with speeding and driving while under suspension. He will appear in Traffic Court on June 3rd, 2019.

On May 5th 2019, at 1:55 a.m., an officer stopped a vehicle on North Front Street. The 40-year old Toronto man was charged with driving while under suspension. He will appear in Traffic Court on June 3rd.

Arrest on warrants

Belleville, Ontario – On May 4th 2019, at 3:48 p.m., police attended at an Emily Street residence in relation to a disturbance. A 28-year-old Belleville woman was arrested on outstanding warrants for theft under $5000.00 and failing to appear in court. She will appear in court on May 30th. No charges in relation to the disturbance.

Arrest in B&E to garage(s)

Belleville, Ontario – On May 4th, 2019 at 7:39 p.m., police attended on Bleecker Avenue in relation to a male breaking into a garage. A 21-year-old Belleville man was arrested at the scene. He was also linked to an earlier attempt at a garage on Ann Street. The male was charged with two counts of break and enter with intent. He was held for a bail hearing on May 5th, 2019.
