Impaired Driving
Belleville, Ont. ? On June 6th, 2009, at approximately 1:36am, police received a call in relation to a vehicle that was ?all over the road?. Officers responded to the area of Front Street and located the vehicle at Front Street and Victoria Avenue. Officers arrested a 29 year old Barrie man for Impaired Driving. He was subsequently charged with one count of Impaired Driving and one count of Over .80 Mgs of Alcohol in Blood. He was later released from custody on a Promise to Appear with a court date in JuLY of 2009.
Radar Detectors
Belleville, Ont. - On June 6, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., two motorists were stopped by a traffic officer on Hwy 62. Both were suspected as having radar detectors in their vehicles. A radar detector was seized from each vehicle. Both drivers, who coincidently are brothers, were charged accordingly under the Highway Traffic Act.
Theft of Lottery Tickets
Belleville, Ont. - On June 6, 2009, at 9 p.m., the Belleville Police Service responded to a theft at a convenience store in the east end of the City. An undisclosed amount of lottery tickets were taken from the store. The lone male grabbed the tickets and then ran Westbound from the store. The male is described as 5?8 with dark spiked hair and wearing a dark t-shirt. This theft is still under investigation.
