Belleville, Ontario ? On October 5, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. a Bellville man was walking across a service road off of Dundas St West. He observed a male, whom he knew, driving an electric bike. The suspect drove right at and into the victim causing the victim to fall to the ground. After the collision it was alleged the suspect punched the victim. The victim was able to get away from the suspect and called police. A short time later police located the suspect and arrested him for Assault with a Weapon. The suspect was actively resistant and at one point attempted to bite the officer.

Charged with one count each of Assault with a Weapon, Dangerous Driving and Resist Arrest is a 50 years old male from the City of Belleville. A Bail Hearing has been scheduled for later this date.

Both the officer and the victim received minor injuries as a result of this incident and subsequent arrest.

Mischief & Prowl at Night

Belleville, Ontario ? On October 6, 2011 at 4:30 a.m. police responded to a complaint of suspicious persons in the University Ave area of the east end of Belleville. Witnesses reported 2 males dressed all in black and riding bicycles in the parking lot of a local business. On seeing the witnesses the two suspects fled on their bikes. On arrival police apprehended one of the males behind another business located on Adam Street. Further investigation revealed a vehicle had been damaged at a third business on University Ave.

Andrew BAKER, 22 years old from the City of Belleville is charged with one count each of Mischief to Property, Prowl at Night and Theft Under. Baker was released with a court date scheduled in on November 24, 2011.
