The Belleville Police Service responded to 68 calls for service between July 6th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and July 7th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.
Theft
Belleville, Ontario – On the 6th of July 2019 at 7:15 p.m., police responded to a business on Millennium Parkway regarding a theft in progress. It was reported that a male was observed removing tags from merchandise inside the business and was making his way out of the store. A Police investigation has resulted in charges against a 36 year-old Belleville resident, Adam Wood for Theft Under $5000. He will attend a court in July to face the charge.
Drive Prohibited, Possession of Stolen Property
Belleville, Ontario – On the 7th of July 2019 at approximately 1:30 a.m., police observed a vehicle traveling westbound on Bell Blvd in an unsafe manner. City officers stopped the vehicle on Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd. The driver was identified as John Switzer of Belleville. The investigation determined that the driver was currently a prohibited driver and was also in possession of stolen property obtained by crime. The accused was also charged with two counts of breach of probation and is being held for a show cause hearing scheduled for Monday, July 8th, 2019.
