Break and Enter

Belleville, Ontario ? On 6 September, 2011 at 2:26 p.m., police attended at a residence on Palmer Road in response to a report of a break and enter to a garage. The garage was reported to have been insecure and a black and silver Giant XPC bicycle was stolen.

School Zone Traffic Enforcement

Belleville, Ontario ? on 6 September, 2011 members of Belleville Police Traffic Management Unit and uniform officers were conducting speed enforcement in various community safety and school zones throughout the day. There were 25 offence notices issued for traffic violations throughout the City.

At 4:18 p.m. a 25 year old, Stirling man was charged with stunt driving on Palmer Road and was summons to appear in Provincial Offences court on 17 October, 2011.

The offence of Stunt Driving was enacted in September 2007 to make Ontario roads safer. Stunt driving can be defined as driving a vehicle in excess of 50 km/hr of the posted speed limit. As well it may be defined as a vehicle being driven in manner without reasonable consideration for others using the highway (i.e. unsafe lane changes, weaving in and out of traffic at a higher speed that the rest of the traffic), or a vehicle doing wheelies/donuts or street racing.
