The Belleville Police Service responded to 43 calls for service between December 6th, 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and December 7th, 2018 at 5:00 a.m.

Arrested on warrants

Belleville, Ontario – On December 7th, 2018 at 12:21 a.m., a male attended at the Belleville Police Station and surrendered on an outstanding committal warrant. The warrant for the 35-year-old Timmins man was confirmed. He had been convicted in Traffic court for driving while under suspension and had received a thirty-day jail sentence. He will commence his sentence on December 7th, 2018.

Impersonating a police officer

Belleville, Ontario – On December 6th, 2018 at 1:05 p.m., police attended in the College Street East area in relation to a man impersonating a police officer. A motorist advised that a man had approached her and identified himself as a police officer. He took photos of the motorist’s car and advised that she would be receiving some paperwork in relation to her driving. George Phillip Fidalgo, 45 years of age, of Deseronto was arrested and charged with “impersonating a police officer”. Fidalgo will appear in court on January 17th, 2019.
