Break and Enter(s)

Belleville, Ontario ? The Belleville Police Service responded to 3 Break & Enters to businesses over the weekend.

On August 6th at 3:05 a.m. police responded to an alarm at a business on College Street west and on arrival noted suspects had gained entry through an air conditioning unit. As a result of this break & enter officers checked the surrounding area and found a second entry to a neighboring restaurant. Entry had been gained through a rear door.

It is unsure at this time what was taken as a result of these entries however both are currently under investigation.

On August 7th at 8:00 p.m. police responded to an alarm at a store on Dundas St East. Suspects removed the front door lock mechanism to gain entry to the store. Further investigation revealed suspects muffled the sound of the audible alarm by cover it with foam. They also covered the rotating red light with a large plastic container in an attempt to conceal this visual alarm indicator. Thieves took a number of power tools as a result of this entry.

Witnesses in the area observed a suspect vehicle at this location at the time of the alarm. The suspect vehicle is a mid 90's dark blue Dodge Dakota, with an extended cab and tinted windows. It was seen leaving the lot in front of the store travelling at a high rate of speed and was last seen north bound on Foster Ave.

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 7, 2011 at 4:30 a.m. police were dispatched to a west hill home regarding a domestic related incident. The home owners had a verbal argument and as a result the male suspect became upset and started throwing drinking glasses about the house. The suspect was asked to leave the home and did so however returned a short time later and started kicking the front door.

A 28 year old Belleville male was arrested and charged with one count of Mischief to Property. He was later released with a court date scheduled in September 2011.


Belleville, Ontario ? On August 6, 2011 sometime just before 3:00 a.m. the victim was walking on the waterfront trail. He was approached by 2 males. He was assaulted and robbed of his keys and money. The victim was unable to give an accurate description of the suspects as it was dark and happened very quickly. The victim was treated and released from Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries.

Stolen Vehicle

Belleville, Ontario ? On August 7, 2011 home owners on Moira Street West reported their vehicle stolen from their driveway. The vehicle was last seen on Aug 6th at 11:15 pm. and was found missing on Aug 7th at 7:45 a.m. The vehicle had been left in the driveway. No keys had been left in the vehicle,

The vehicle plate number is BCZY035 and is a 4 door white 1994 Lincoln Town Car. The vehicle has grey interior and white wall tires and is in good condition. There was also a child car seat in the rear of the car behind the driver's seat.
