Belleville, Ontario ? March 8, 2010 at 3:01a.m., police attended at a residence on Hastings Drive in relation to a report of a break and enter. The occupants were woken around 12:47 a.m. because of barking dogs. The victim checked the rear of the residence and observed that the shed had been broken into and a red 18 speed ladies mountain bicycle had been stolen. This investigation is ongoing.
Belleville, Ontario ? March 8, 2010, between 12:30 and 5:35 p.m., unknown person(s) entered a residence on Octavia Street and stole a laptop and charging cords. This investigation is ongoing.
Stolen Vehicle(s)
Belleville, Ontario ? March 8, 2010 at 7:10 a.m. police responded to theft of motor vehicle complaint. The owner of the vehicle reported that sometime between midnight and 7:00 a.m. unknown person(s) stole his black 1991 Jeep Cherokee, bearing Ontario marker AWMT213. This jeep is described as having oversize tires, chrome rims and orange bumpers. This investigation is ongoing.
Belleville, Ontario ? March 8, 2010 at 7:16 a.m., police responded to a theft of motor vehicle complaint. The owner of a dark blue, 1998 GMC Safari van (with pink rose decals in the rear windows) was stolen from Turnbull Street sometime between March 6th at 7:00 p.m. and March 8th at 7:00 a.m. This investigation is ongoing.
Belleville, Ontario ? March 8, 2010 at 7:27 p.m. police responded to a parking lot on Bridge Street, West in relation to an attempt theft of a red 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The victim had parked her vehicle at 6:00p.m. and returned at 7:05 p.m. and noticed that the drivers's side door lock had been punched and the ignition of the vehicle had been tampered with to a point that the vehicle would not start. This investigation is ongoing.

Belleville, Ontario ? March 8, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. police responded to a parking lot on Dundas Street, East for a complaint of a stolen white 2003 GMC Sierra 2 door pickup. The victim reported that she parked the vehicle at 6:30 p.m. and returned at 9:00 p.m. to find the vehicle gone. The vehicle is described as having Ontario marker 8054RD attached, short box with dark tinted windows with large BF Goodrich tires. This investigation is ongoing.

Belleville, Ontario ? March 8, 2010, the Belleville Police Street Crime Unit and Traffic & Community Policing Unit made arrests over the noon hour of four youths after conducting a traffic stop on Bridge Street West.
The youths (3male and 1 female) are charged with possession of marihuana but cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
A subsequent search of a residence on Dunbar Street was conducted. As a result of this one of youth has been charged with a subsequent count of possession for the purpose of trafficking after crack cocaine and other drug related paraphernalia were discovered.
The street value of the seizure is estimated to be $25,000.00.
Three of the youths have been released and the fourth youth will appear for a bail hearing on March 9, 2010.
Belleville, Ontario ? March 8, 2010 at 9:25 a.m. a female was walking on Foster Avenue towards Dundas Street East when an unknown male (described as wearing a black hoody and black track pants) on a dark coloured mountain bike rode passed her and grabbed her bag from her hand.
The bike is described as being newer suspension type bike with a red light under the seat.
The victim's bag is made of black fabric and has "AVON? on the side, written in blue. The bag contained identification, keys, and money.

Please be advised that the Belleville Police Service Board will be conducting a general meeting on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m..

This meeting will take place at City Hall, Council Chambers. A brief presentation of the Belleville Police Service Strategic Business Plan 2010 - 2012 will be presented to the Board. A copy of the plan will be distributed at the meeting and as well posted on the Belleville Police Service website.
