Attempted Fraud
Belleville, Ont. ? On September 8, 2009, at approximately 6:55 p.m., an Aldersgate Drive resident called police to report an attempted fraud. An unknown male caller advised her that she had won a trip to Florida through Choice Reward Mastercard points. He was able to give her several numbers from her Mastercard and requested that she provide the expiry date and several others. The resident was immediately suspicious and began to question the caller while refusing to provide the information requested. After the call was terminated she called the bank and confirmed that it was in fact a fraud attempt. The Belleville Police Service would like to remind the public to never provide any banking or credit card information over the telephone to anyone.
Impaired Driving
Belleville, Ont. ? On September 8, 2009, at approximately 2:50 a.m., police checked a vehicle on Moira Street West and found the driver to be impaired. A 33 year old Belleville man was arrested and charged with Over 80. He was released on a Promise to Appear.
