Mischief & Theft from Motor Vehicles

Belleville, Ontario ? Sometime between 6pm on April 7th to 9am on April 8th suspects smashed the windshield of a vehicle parked on Lewis Street. Suspect took change and other personal items from the vehicle. Another vehicle parked on the same street had its head lights smashed. It is unknown at this time if the two acts of mischief are related.

Assault, Obstruct Police & Drugs

Belleville, Ontario ? On April 8, 2010, at 8:00 p.m., officers attended a residence in the east end of Belleville to check on the well being of the children in the home. On police arrival police located a male in the home. This male was on conditions not to be in the presence of the children without specific supervision.

While investigating this incident the female resident in the home attempted to prevent police from entering a specific room in the house. She obstructed the officer by grabbing him and attempted to pull him away. The 27 year old Belleville woman was arrested for Obstruct Police and during the arrest she continued to resist against police.

During the arrest of the female the male person in the home shoved police against a wall. A 29 year old Belleville male was subsequently arrested for Assault and as with the female he continued to resist against police.

The 27 year old female was charged with one count each of Assault Police, Obstruct Police, Resist Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was released on a Promise to Appear and an OIC Undertaking and will appear in court in May 2010.

The 29 Year old male was charged with one count each of Assault Police, Obstruct Police, Resist Arrest and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He has been detained in custody awaiting a Bail Hearing.

No names will be released to protect the identification of the children in this case.
