Indecent Act

Belleville, Ontario ? On June 7, 2011, at 4:20 p.m. police received a complaint of an Indecent Act being performed by a male in the east end of the City.

Two independent witnesses report observing a male walking west bound on Victoria Avenue in the area of Chatham Street at approximately 3:55 p.m. The male was holding what appeared to be a shirt in with one hand while at the same time masturbating himself with the other. The shirt was being held in such away as to partially cover himself while he was doing this.

The male is described as white, 45 to 55 years, light colored hair (possibly gray), thin build, wearing blue nylon track pants. The suspect was not wearing a shirt at the time. He appeared to have tattoos on both arms. The suspect was also wearing a dark coloured ball hat.

One witness followed the male however lost sight of him in the area of Foster Avenue. It should be noted there were children in the area at the time this behaviour was observed.

Police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying this male. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 613 966 0882.

Police would like to request that if members of the public should see anyone acting suspiciously or appear to be ?out of place' in a neighbourhood or area, especially where children are likely to be, to please report it to police immediately.

Domestic Assault

Belleville, Ontario ? On June 7, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. police responded to a domestic assault at a home in the east end of Belleville. The victim and the suspect had been involved in a verbal dispute when the suspect struck the victim in the head with his fist knocking her to the ground. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival however was located and arrested by police a short time later. At the time the suspect was arrested he was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon.

An 18 year old Belleville male has been charged with one count each of Assault and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon. He will appear in court July 2011. The name of the accused in this case will not be released as to protect the identity of the victim.

Break & Enter(s)

Belleville, Ontario ? On June 7, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. police received a report of a break and enter to a business on Bell Blvd. The entry occurred sometime after 6:00 p.m. on June 6th to the time reported to police. Entry was gained by damaging the lock on the front door of the business and the only thing missing was an undisclosed amount of cash.

Belleville, Ontario ? On June 8, 2011 at 3:00 a.m. police responded to an alarm at a Dundas Street East gas station. On arrival police found the front glass door smashed out. Suspects had pried the cash register drawer inside the gas station and removed an undisclosed amount of cash. The first officer arrived at the scene within 2 minutes of police receiving the call however the suspects had already fled the scene.

Both of these Break & Enters are currently under investigation.

Suspicious Person

Belleville, Ontario ? On June 7, 2011 police spoke to two young girls who reported an older male had exposed himself to them while they were waiting for their school bus. The incident occurred on Catherine Street earlier in the day. The females observed a male walk past them on Catherine Street on the other side of the road. The male waived at the girls who waived back. The male continued to walk away however turned around and walk past them again and at this point he turned towards them and exposed himself.

The male is described as approximately 5'7?, approximately 30-40 years old, dark hair which was described as ?messy', some facial hair however not described as a ?beard', wearing a dark blue t-shirt and a dark blue ball hat. He was also described as having ?bit of a belly'.

Police are requesting anyone with information about this male or anyone who may have seen him in the area to be please contact police at 613-966-0882.
