LLA and Resist Arrest

Belleville, Ontario On 8 June, 2012 at 2:15 a.m., police officers were patrolling the north end bars and observed a disturbance involving a male and staff from a North Front Street bar. Investigation resulted in the male being arrested under the Liquor License Act. The male refused to comply with directions from police while affecting the arrest at the scene and his non compliance escalate once inside Belleville Police Service.

John Dixon (21 years) of Belleville has been charged with one count of Public Intoxication and one count of Resist Arrest. Dixon is scheduled to appear in Provincial court on 19 July 2012.

Possession of Stolen Property/ Warrant

Belleville, Ontario On 7 June, 2012 at 12:41 p.m., police initiated and investigation into the theft of a chain saw from a residence on Airport Parkway. Shortly after this complaint was filed it was learned that a male had attempted to sell a chain saw at a local pawn store. Investigation of this incident led to the arrest of a 19 year old male (NFA). Further investigation provided information that this same male was wanted on a warrant.

This male has been charged with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and two counts of Breach of Probation and will appear for a bail hearing on 8 June, 2012.


Belleville, Ontario Sometime between 8:30 p.m. on 6 June, 2012 to 6:30 a.m. on 7 June, 2012 unknown person(s) sprayed paint on the rear west, south and east walls of offices and stores at 150 Sidney Street. The doors, dumpsters, power boxes and signs located in the strip mall all had various colours of paint applied. Belleville Police Service is asking that anyone that has any information in relation to this mischief to contact Belleville Police Service at 613 966-0882 or Crime Stoppers at 613 969-8477.
