The Belleville Police Service responded to 75 calls for service between December 7th, 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and December 8th, 2018 at 5:00 a.m.

Arrested on warrants

Belleville, Ontario – On December 7th, 2018 at 3:38 p.m., a female attended at the Belleville Police Station and surrendered on an outstanding committal warrant. The warrant for the 33-year-old Belleville woman was confirmed. She was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for uttering threats. She was held in police custody pending a bail hearing on the 8th of December, 2018.

Festive Ride

Belleville, Ontario – On December 7th, 2018, at 9:00 p.m. police conducted RIDE programs throughout the city. A total of 300 vehicles were checked. Two Approved Screening Device tests were given resulting in one 3-day driver's licence suspension being issued for registering a “warn” and one impaired driver was arrested. A 27-year old Belleville man has been charged with impaired driving.

Police are reminding the public that during this holiday season to not drive after consuming alcohol and/or cannabis. Consider an alternative to driving, such as public transit, a local taxi service, or a designated driver.
