Break and Enter Belleville, Ontario

At approximately 12:30 am on August 9, 2012 police were called to a break and enter in progress at a Victoria Avenue residence. While en route to the call officers located a man matching the description of the suspect who was observed riding a bicycle nearby. When the officers attempted to stop him he fled on the bike towards the downtown area and a foot chase ensued. He was located a few minutes later hiding under a deck at the side of another residence on Catharine Street and arrested for Break and Enter. The suspect, a 41 year old Trenton resident, was brought to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for a bail hearing on August 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm. He faces the following charges:

  1. Break and Enter
  2. Possession of Break in Tools
  3. Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000
  4. Resisting Arrest
  5. Prowl by Night.

The investigation is continuing. Neither the suspect nor the officers involved were injured as a result of the incident.
