ATTEMPT BREAK AND ENTER
Belleville, Ont. ? On 9 August 2009 at 12:43 a.m. police responded to a call of a person, with a crowbar attempting to break into a residence in the north/east area of Belleville. Officers arrived on scene but the person was scared off. A search of the area did not locate anyone. Entry was not gained to the residence.
RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE AND FOOT PURSUIT
Belleville, Ont. ? On the 9 August 2009 at 3:35am an officer saw a vehicle driving on Coleman Street. The officer became suspicious and stopped the vehicle in the area of Earl Street. The male identified himself to the officer, but when the officer questioned him further as to his identity, the male driver bolted from the officer and engaged in a foot pursuit. As this was happening information received was the vehicle the male was driving was reported stolen from Napanee. Other officers attended the area and were able to apprehend the male suspect. Charged with Impaired operation, Fail to provide breath sample, Personation, Obstruct Police Officer and Possession of Stolen Property is a 26 year old Belleville male. He is being held in custody for a bail hearing on Monday.
COLLISION
Belleville, Ont. ? On the 9 August 2009, Emergency crews responded to a 2 vehicle collision at the intersection of Sidney Street and Bell Blvd at approximately 5:15pm. One vehicle occupant was transported to Belleville general Hospital with minor injuries. An 80 yr old male was charged with making a Turn not in Safety.
IMPAIRED DRIVER
Belleville, Ont. ? On the 9 August 2009, approximately 11:45 p.m.  Staff at a North Front Street bar contacted police about a possible impaired driver. Staff had attempted to stop the person from driving. Police stopped the suspect vehicle in the area and arrested a Kitchener male for having a blood alcohol level above 80 mgs. The male was taken to the stationed were he gave a breath sample that was more than two and a half times the legal limit. The male will appear in court in September.
