Theft of Truck and Transport Trailer
Belleville, Ontario ? On December 9, 2009, sometime over night suspects stole a 2002 International Tractor Truck from a Park Drive business. The suspects then drove the truck to a store on Bell Blvd where they hooked the truck onto a 50' transport trailer. The trailer was loaded with new furniture valued at $70,000.00.
The truck had been equipped with a built in GPS unit. The business who owned the truck was able to track the vehicle's movements. On checking the movement of the truck it was found that the vehicle was stolen at 2:10 a.m., on the morning of December 9th.
It was tracked to Bell Blvd where it sat idle before going on the move again. Further GPS coordinates indicated the truck moved east out of the City and had stopped in the Lanark area.
Eastern OPP agencies were notified of the last location of the tractor truck and trailer and at 11:30 a.m., OPP located the tractor truck and trailer in Almonte, Ontario. The vehicle had left the roadway and was located in a ditch. The contents of the trailer were recovered at the scene and OPP arrested two males at the time of the recovery.
Found Property- Brief Case (previously reported stolen)
Belleville, Ontario ? On December 9, 2009, at 9:38 p.m., a resident on Rosewood Ave turned over a found brief case to police. The resident had read a recent article in the Belleville Intelligencer regarding a theft of a brief case by a local woman. The brief case contained documentation associated to a local non profit organization. The resident found this brief case in his garage approximately one week ago and thought it belonged to a family member. He set it aside thinking nothing more of it. After reading the article in the Intelligencer he opened the brief case to find the contents were that of the woman who had reported it stolen. The owner of the brief case was notified of the recovery.

Belleville, Ontario ? On December 9, 2009, at 8:40 a.m., a City Of Belleville bus was involved in a minor accident on Bridge Street East. The bus slid into a pole. No injuries were reported and no damage was sustained to the bus. Poor weather conditions were a factor in the accident. No charges were laid.
Belleville, Ontario ? On December 9, 2009, at 12:15 p.m., a tractor trailer ?jack knifed' on Farnham Road. Traffic was diverted for a short period of time while the transport was being towed from the scene. This was a single motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported and minor damage was sustained to the vehicle. Poor weather conditions were a factor in the accident. No charges were laid.
