Break and Enters and Mischief
On 30 April, 2010, the Belleville Police Service attended at Nicholson Catholic College in response to a break and enter that occurred overnight.
Investigation of this incident revealed that 3 portable classrooms had been broken into and each portable had a fire extinguisher set off inside and paint was splashed about. Schools books and a flat screen computer monitor were stolen.
Further investigation by Uniformed Officers, Scenes of Crime Officers and members of the BPS Street Crime Unit lead to the arrest of 2 Young Offenders from Belleville aged 16 and 14 years. Both parties have each been charged with 3 counts of Break and Enter and 3 counts of Mischief.
Further, these same persons were charged with break and enter and possession of break in instruments stemming from a break in at sir Mackenzie Bowell Public School on April 30, 2010, at 4:18 a.m.. This incident involved forced entry into a portable classroom.
Both males are scheduled to appear in the Youth Criminal Court in June 2010.
The names of the youths cannot be released according to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
