Motor Vehicle Collisions:

Belleville Police Service investigated a total of 2 MVC?s today. No injuries. Police are reminding the public to drive according to the conditions of the roadway and weather.

Belleville, Ont. - On the 9th of March, 2009 at 4:42pm Belleville Police received information that a vehicle was in the area of Bell Blvd. with two male occupants that may have been involved with stealing items from grocery stores. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Through investigation it was learned that the plates attached to the vehicle was stolen earlier in the day from an address in Quinte West. The vehicle also contained food items that had been stolen from a Belleville grocery store. A 48 yr. old Belleville male was charged with two counts of theft, two counts of possession of stolen property, and three counts of breach of probation. A 52 yr. old Belleville male has been charged with one count of theft and one count of possession of stolen property. Both males will appear in court on the 10th of March for a Bail Hearing.
