Belleville, Ontario ? On 7 May, 2011 at 12:35 a.m., police responded at a business in the one hundred block of Pinnacle Street in response to an alarm. Investigation of this incident revealed that unknown person(s) entered the business through the air conditioning unit and subsequently stole electronics. This investigation is ongoing.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 9 may, 2011 at 5:00 a.m., police attended at a business in the 300 block of North Front Street where the thieves smashed the glass of the front door and subsequently stole alcohol. This investigation is ongoing.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 7 May, 2011 from 8:00 p.m. to 8 May, 2011 at 1:00 a.m., officers conducted a RIDE program at various points throughout the City. There were 370 vehicles checked, 2 roadside screening tests conducted, one 12 hour license suspension.

Belleville, Ontario ? On 7 May, 2011 at 10:14 p.m., police were involved in conducting a RIDE. At that time police observed a vehicle make a sharp turn onto Reid Street. Police observed a plastic bag being thrown out the passenger window. Police located the bag and observed what is believed to be marihuana within the bag. Further investigation led police to seize a controlled substance (marihuana) and drug paraphernalia.
Justin MacInnis (27 years) of Belleville has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (schedule II) narcotic. MacInnis will appear in provincial court on 19 May, 2011.

Impaired Driving/Over 80
Belleville, Ontario ? On 7 May, 2011 at 3:34 a.m., police were on routine patrol in an unmarked cruiser, stopped at a Dundas Street East and Church Street for a red light. The officer observed a vehicle coming from the rear travelling at a high rate of speed, this vehicle swerved to avoid the police cruiser and preceded eastbound through the red light. This vehicle was stopped further east on Dundas Street East. Investigation led to the driver of this vehicle being charged with one count of Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle and Operation of Motor Vehicle with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol.

Andrew Baker (21 years) of Belleville will appear in Provincial Court on 19 May, 2011.

Sudden Death
Belleville, Ontario ? On 7 May, 2011 at 3:50 p.m., police attended at a residence on Crestview Avenue at the request of ambulance dispatch. Police are investigating the sudden death of a 30 year old female. A post mortem examination will be conducted on 9 May, 2011. This investigation is ongoing.
