The Belleville Police Service responded to 54 calls from December 15th 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to December 16th 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Traffic Enforcement

Belleville, ON – On December 15th 2020 around 9:00 a.m., an officer on patrol observed and stopped a motor vehicle in the area of Highway 62 and Millennium Parkway. Further investigation revealed the driver, a 40-year old Oshawa man, was in contravention of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The man was charged with the driving his motor vehicle on a highway with no insurance. 

The involved motor vehicle was towed from the location, and the man was released on a Part 3 Summons to Appear in Provincial Offences Court in February 2021.

City Police report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on December 16th 2020.  Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes and calls to assist ambulance.
