Disturbance involving weapons
Belleville, Ontario – On May 24th, 2013, at 1:30 p.m., police attended at a residence on Catharine Street in relation to a disturbance. The 911 caller advised that two males threatened to spray her with "bear mace”. The suspects left in a vehicle which observed on Sidney Street. Officers performed a high risk takedown on this vehicle on Bell Blvd. at Wallbridge Loyalist Road. Four people were taken into custody without incident. Inside this vehicle were 3 large canisters of bear mace, a machete, and a knife in a sheath. Police also seized four plastic "kindereggs”. Contained in these eggs was a quantity of marijuana with an approximate weight of 60 grams.
Interviews with the victim and witness revealed that two males threatened to "bear mace” an individual who was holding a baby. The bear mace was not deployed.
Two males were held for Bail on May 25th, 2013 while the other two were released on promise to appears. Both males had their bails put over to Monday May 27th. Awaiting bail are:
Kody Hackbarth 19 years of age Belleville
Jordan Frivalt 18 years of age Trenton
Hackbarth and Frivalt face identical chares of Assault with a weapon X 2, breach of probation, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The other two occupants of the car were charged with possession for purpose of trafficking. Charged are:
Jesse Turner 19 years of age Belleville
Jessica Doucette 20 years of age Cobourg
Turner was also wanted by Kingston Police Service on outstanding charges. He was turned over to escort officers from Kingston.
