Dispatcher/Communicator Part Time

The Belleville Police Service is accepting applications for the position of Part-Time Dispatcher/Communicator. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, above average knowledge of and the ability to use computer equipment, including accurate keyboarding skills, the ability to work well with others and as part of a team, the ability to represent the organization in a professional, courteous manner and the ability to organize and plan are essential requirements. Previous experience as a dispatcher or call-take would be an asset. This is a part-time position with up to 24 hours worked a week, but not guaranteed on a rotating shift schedule of days and nights, including weekends and statutory holidays. Availability of work would be based on a known schedule, but also on short notice when required. The position entails a wide range of support services to front line officers and the public. The hourly rate of pay is $27.398 (January 1, 2011 rate of pay).
