Belleville Police Service responded to 51 calls for service from the 6th of February 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 7th of February 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collision, Drugs, Breach of Probation
Belleville ON – On the 6th of February 2020 at 2:15 p.m., city police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Moira St West near Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd. Upon investigation, it was found that the driver was under suspension and police located an undisclosed amount of drugs, drug paraphernalia and open liquor in the vehicle.
The 34-year-old male driver was arrested and charged for Driving Under Suspension, Careless Driving, Liquor Readily Available to the Driver, Cannabis Readily Available to the Driver, Possession of Drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking and Breach of Probation. City police also impounded the accused vehicle for seven days.
Also, a 33-year-old female passenger was also arrested and charged for Possession of Drugs for the Purpose of Trafficking and Breach of Probation.
Both parties were held in custody and are scheduled to appear for a Show Cause Hearing on the 7th February 2020, 1:00 p.m. at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice.
Drugs, Breach of Probation
Belleville ON – On the 6th of February 2020 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Belleville Police attended outside the Quinte Consolidated Courthouse in regards to a female who was breaching her probation. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the accused was also found to be in possession of Heroin & Fentanyl. Twenty-eight-year-old, Jaquelin Bloor of Belleville was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, Fail to Appear in Court, and Breach of Probation. The accused was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on the 5th. March 2020.
Belleville ON- On the 6th of February 2020 at 6:30 p.m., Belleville police officers attended an East end residence in regards to a domestic disturbance. A 32-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Mischief Under $5000. The accused was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to attend the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice to answer for the charge on the 24th. February 2020.
Domestic Disturbance – Liquor Offence
Belleville ON – On the 6th of February 2020 at 9:15 p.m., Belleville police were dispatched to a Front Street parking lot where there was a bit of a disturbance between a male and female couple. The 22-year-old female was found to be extremely intoxicated and was uncooperative with the police and her male counterpart. The intoxicated female was arrested and charged for public intoxication and taken to the Belleville Police Service to sober up and later released.
Disturbance – VIA Rail
Belleville ON – On the 6th of February 2020 at 11:00 p.m., city police attended the VIA Rail train station in regards to a disturbance. A police investigation revealed that a 53-year-old Oshawa man had been a passenger on the train and refused to purchase a ticket. VIA Rail staff attempted to have the gentleman exit the train but the Oshawa man refused causing a bit of a disturbance and holding up the train. City police officers were able to escort the gentleman off the train without incident. The police assisted the gentleman in making other travel arrangements and no charges were laid in this matter.
