The Belleville Police Service responded to 45 calls for service from January 12th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to January 13th, 2021 at 5:00 a.m.
Attempt Fraud Charges
Belleville, ON – On the 12th of January 2021 at 7:30 p.m. Police responded to a business on Dundas Street East regarding a prescription fraud. On arrival, Police conducted an investigation that revealed the suspect male was from out of town attempting to fill fraudulent prescriptions for narcotics. The 24-year-old male was arrested on scene Attempt Fraud. The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he is being held for bail.
Motor Vehicle Collision
Belleville, ON – On the 12th of January 2021 at 8:40 a.m. Police responded to the area of Moira Street West and Frank Street regarding a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported although both vehicles sustained significant damage. The at fault driver was charged with Fail to Stop at Stop Sign under the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial Offences Notice.
City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on January 13th 2021. Police responded to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance.
