The Belleville Police Service responded to 50 calls from January 4th 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to January 5th 2020 at 5:00 am.

City police report a relatively quiet 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on January 5th 2019.  Police did respond to several 911-hang ups / accidental dials.  Nobody was found to be in distress at any of these.  Police also investigated numerous noise complaints, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance.

3-day licence suspension

Belleville, ON – On January 5th 2020 at 2:14 a.m., a police officer patrolling the North Front Street area observed a motor vehicle leave the parking lot of a licenced establishment.  The officer’s vehicle was just about struck by this motor vehicle as they drove southbound on North Front Street.  A traffic stop was initiated in the area of Finch Drive and Sandpiper Court.  The 47-year old male driver of Bloomfield Ontario, was issued a 3-day driver’s licence suspension, and had his truck towed after he provided a sample of “warn” on the approved screening device.
