The Belleville Police Service responded to 57 calls for service between the 20th March 2020 at 5:00 a.m. and the 21st March 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Weapons Charges

Belleville ON - On the 17th of March 2020 at 11:30 a.m., officers attended a disturbance at a North end public school. After a police investigation, it was discovered that two males had arranged to fight. The one male showed up with two friends and one who had a pellet gun. The male with the pellet gun discharged it towards the other combatant. Afterwards, the three males left in a vehicle. Fortunately, a witness was recording the incident and one male was subsequently arrested. Brendan Chamberlain an eighteen-year-old male from Quinte West was charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace (not the pellet gun), and assault with a weapon. He was released on an undertaking with a court date of the 21st of May 2020. A warrant is being sought for the second male who had the pellet gun. There were no injuries reported. The third male suspect did not get involved int the fight.

Narcotic Incident

Belleville ON – On the 20th of March 2020 at 9:15 p.m., officers observed a vehicle that had been stolen in Belleville on the 15th of March 2020. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants were arrested. The female driver was searched and a small quantity of Methamphetamine was found on her. As a result, Amanda Meijering, a 30 yr old Roslin woman was charged with possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of a narcotic for the purpose of trafficking, and breach of probation. She was released on an undertaking with a court date of the 11th of May 2020.
