Belleville Police Service responded to 67 calls for service from the 4th of August 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 5th of August 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Theft

Belleville, ON – On the 4th of August 2020 at 10:00 p.m. Police responded to a theft call in the East end of the City. Witnesses called in a theft in progress and officers located the male suspect in the area. An investigation ensued resulting in the arrest of 41-year-old Belleville man, Joseph Stacey. He was arrested for Theft Under $5000 and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was released on an Undertaking, given a Court date of August 27th 2020 to answer to the charge.

City Police also report a fairly steady 24-hour period ending at 5:00 a.m. on August 5th   2020.  Police did respond to several incidents that ended peacefully with Police intervention. Those incidents included numerous noise complaints, disturbances, domestics, suspicious persons and vehicles, traffic complaints, neighbour and family disputes, animal complaints, and calls to assist ambulance.
