Changes to Volunteer Criminal Record Check (CRC) Applications

Belleville Police Services' pledge to our community partners and prevention of crime continues.

Belleville Police Service offers volunteers with non-profit organizations working with the vulnerable sector a free CRC. This service will be offered bi-weekly starting in August, 2010.

On August 17, 2010, citizens requiring a volunteer CRC may attend at the Children's Safety Village from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the subsequent (bi-weekly) Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Belleville Police Service will continue to accept Volunteer CRC Applications on this schedule.

Volunteers will be able to complete their CRC application at the Children's Safety Village and in 5 to 7 business days pick up their CRC by attending the main reception area of Belleville Police Service (93 Dundas Street East, Belleville).

Volunteers with non-profit organizations working with the vulnerable sector are required to complete the Police Records Check for Service with the Vulnerable Sector. They must contain the following information:

  1. Complete all areas of the Police Records Check form and check the Vulnerable Sector box.
  2. A volunteer letter from an authorized agency identifying the non-profit agency, with non-profit organization number (if available) and the name of the volunteer to have the processing fee waived.
  3. Bring two (2) pieces of valid identification (with at least 1 piece of photo id).

There is NO fee for service for a Volunteer Criminal Record Check if you attend on the designated dates.

Volunteers who attend the Belleville Police Service at any time outside of the aforementioned dates and times to have their Criminal Record Search processed will be required to pay a fee for service of $20.00 or $40.00 based on their residency.

The CRC application form(s) can be downloaded here CRC APPLICATION FORM & VULNERABLE SECTOR SEARCH (or in the future from the Belleville Police Service web site located within the POLICE RECORDS tab) and filled out in advance.
