The Belleville Police Service responded to 68 calls for service from December 19th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to December 20th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.  

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Belleville, ON – On the 19th of December 2020 at 12:42 p.m. Police attended on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in response to a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported; and as a result of the investigation, the at fault driver was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

Belleville, ON – On the 19th of December 2020 at 1:20 p.m. Police attended on North Front Street in response to a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported; and as a result of the investigation, the at fault driver was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

Arrested on Warrants

Belleville, ON – On the 19th of December 2020 at approximately 9:30 a.m. Police were in the area of College Street East investigating a theft complaint. During the investigation, officers had contact with a male who was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a release order. A 45-year-old Belleville male was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was held for a bail hearing. His name is not being released at this time to protect the identity of the victim in relation to his original charges.

Belleville, ON – On the 19th of December 2020 at approximately 12:20 p.m. Police attended a business on Station Street in response to a dropped 911 call. While on-scene, officers had contact with a female who was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend for fingerprints. Alysa Wilson, a 25-year-old Belleville female was subsequently arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service where she was held for a bail hearing.

R.I.D.E.

Belleville, ON – City police conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere program on the evening of December 19th, 2020, and into the early morning hours of December 20th, 2020.  A total of 157 motor vehicles were checked. Two roadside breath demands were made; and breath samples were provided into an Approved Screening Device. In both cases, the samples did not register any impairment and the drivers were sent on their way.
