The Belleville Police Service responded to 70 calls for service between December 28th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and December 29th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Bails

Belleville, ON – On December 28th, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a male walking on Ritchie Avenue who he knew had outstanding warrants. The male fled on foot through backyards. Responding units located the male on Catharine Street at which time he was arrested. Joshua Bow Larren Parks, 29 years of age, of Belleville, was held for a bail hearing on December 29th, 2019 on a charge of breach of probation.

On December 28th, 2019, at 8:15 p.m. a 25-year-old man attended at the station to confess that he had been breaching his bail conditions by failing to reside with his surety in Quebec. Once the information was confirmed, the male was arrested and held for a bail hearing on December 29th, 2019 on a charge of breach of a recognizance.

Traffic Enforcement

Belleville, ON – On December 28th, 2019, at 6:55 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Old Hwy 2. The driver was charged with not having valid insurance and will appear in Traffic Court on February 3rd, 2020.

On December 28th, 2019, at 10:20 p.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop on Finch Drive as the vehicle had improper licence plates on it. The driver was charged accordingly.

On December 28th, 2019, at 10:45 p.m. police attended on Cannifton Road at College Street as a pedestrian had been struck by a car. The pedestrian had left the area prior to police arrival. The pedestrian was located on North Front Street and EMS attended to treat her for minor injuries. The investigation revealed that the pedestrian had attempted to cross the street against the red light. There were no charges.

Intoxicated male

Belleville, ON – On December 29th, 2019, at 3:10 a.m. police attended at a parking lot on North Front Street as there was a concern that an intoxicated male was going to drive his vehicle. A 22-year-old Trenton man was arrested for public intoxication under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice.
