The Belleville Police Service responded to 54 calls for service between December 30th, 2019 at 5:00 a.m. and December 31st, 2019 at 5:00 a.m.

Domestic Assault

Belleville, ON – On 30 December 2019 at 10:35am, police responded to a Palmer Road apartment regarding a complaint of a domestic dispute. It was reported that neighbours could hear an assault taking place within the apartment. Upon arrival, police located the involved parties and an 18-year-old Belleville man was arrested. He was held for a bail hearing on 31 December for the charges of uttering threats, weapons dangerous to the public, and two counts of assault. His name will not be released at this time to protect the identity of the victim.

Arrest made on warrants

Belleville, ON- On 31 December 2019, at 1:30am, police responded to a disturbance at a Cannifton Road address. Belleville Police were advised that a male had been drinking and was unwanted in the residence. On arrival, police identified the male who had outstanding warrants for break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, and fraud. Nicholas Goulet, 20, of Belleville was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
