The Belleville Police responded to 90  calls for service between January 31, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. and February 1, 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Domestic assault

Belleville ON On January 31, 2020 at 10:30 p.m. officers received a call about a disturbance in an apartment on Victoria Ave. Upon arrival officers spoke to a witness who pointed out the apartment where the disturbance was. As a result of information received by officers a 35 yr old Belleville male was arrested for domestic assault and uttering threats. He was held for a video remand on February 1, 2020. The victim did not suffer any injuries.

Fail to Stop

Belleville ON On January 31, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. an officer on NorthPark St. observed a vehicle driving erratically. When the officer turned on his emergency equipment the vehicle appeared to accelerate away. The officer was well behind the vehicle and had lost the suspect vehicle almost immediately. A very short time later the vehicle was observed rolled over at the corner of Chown St. and McPhee St. The lone male driver exited the vehicle and was not injured. He was placed under arrest. Daniel Heasemen, a 37 yr. old Belleville resident was charged with Dangerous Operation and Flight from Police. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date of February 27, 2020. There were no injuries.

Theft

Belleville ON, On 31 Jan 2020 at 2:30 p.m. officers attended a business on Bell Blvd and spoke to a security officer. Police received information that a female attempted to leave the store with a basket full of items. Police continued the arrest. Jessica Whiteman a 33 yr old from Belleville was charged with theft under $5000 dollars. She was released at the scene on an appearance notice with a court date of February 23, 2020
