Driver charged after collision
Belleville, ON. On 9 February at 10:45 p.m., police were following a vehicle on North Front Street. As the police vehicle stopped for a red light, the other vehicle failed to stop. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time it swerved off the road and into a sign. The driver was identified as 20-year-old Jonah McCloskey of Scarborough. He was charged with drive under suspension, failing to stop for a red light, and operating a vehicle without insurance. McCloskey was issued a summons to appear in court on March 2.
Prowl by night
Belleville, ON. On 10 February at 3:05 a.m., police were patrolling in the north end of the city when a male was observed walking dressed on all black. When the male saw the cruiser, he took off on the run. The male was arrested a short time later after a brief foot chase. The 22-year-old Belleville man advised he was contemplating entering a storage unit that he was locked out of due to lack of payment, but he chose not to follow through. The male was charged under the Trespass to Property Act and released a short time later.
