Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville, Ontario – On February 21st, 2017, police responded to 6 collisions throughout the day.
At 6:15 p.m. police attended on Airport Parkway in relation to a two-car accident. One vehicle had struck a stopped vehicle from behind on the highway. Both vehicles were demolished and had to be towed from the scene. An 18-year-old Shannonville man was charged with careless driving. No one was injured.
At 6:18 p.m. police attended on Bell Blvd. at Wallbridge-Loyalist Road in relation to a two-car accident. Both cars were heavily damaged and were towed from the intersection. A 94-year-old Belleville woman was charged with making an unsafe left turn. There were no injuries.
At 11:30 p.m. police attended on Lemoine Street as a male adult pedestrian reported that he had been struck by a car. He advised that a dark-coloured Volkswagen was southbound on Lemoine Street and struck him while he was on the sidewalk. The vehicle failed to remain. The pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.
Belleville, Ontario – On February 21st, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. a store window was broken on Front Street by a male. Police located 38-year-old Dan Reilly of Belleville and charged him with mischief under $5000.00 and breach of probation. He will appear in court on March 30th, 2017.
Belleville, Ontario – On February 22nd, 2017, at 1:15 a.m. officers attended at a drive-thru at a restaurant in the City’s east end. The staff reported that a male driver had fallen asleep in the drive-thru lane. Officers attended and put the vehicle in park while the driver continued to sleep. Once awakened, the driver was arrested for impaired driving. Tyler Hill, 28-years-of-age, of Belleville was charged with impaired driving, over 80 mgs, and breach of probation. He will appear in court on March 9th, 2017.
