Theft from unlocked motor vehicle

Belleville, ON – On February 28th 2019 at 6:55 a.m., city police received a report from a resident in the Orchard Drive area about a theft from her motor vehicle.  The complainant advised police that her vehicle was left unlocked, and the unknown thief made off with some loose coins (Canadian currency), and an insurance document.  Police remind everyone to lock everything.  Anyone who may have information about this theft is asked to please contact investigating officer S/Sgt. Disguised thief steals cell phone

Belleville, ON – On February 28th 2020 at 10:00 a.m., city police attended to a call on Front Street about a theft of a cell phone.  A female victim was in her business as a male suspect entered.  He is described as wearing a black ski mask and a red winter jacket.  The suspect walked over to a desk, stole the victim’s cell phone, and fled the building.  A search of the area proved negative for the suspect.  The victim was not harmed in this matter.  Anyone who may have information about the suspect or this theft is asked to please contact investigating officer Cst. Theft of generator

Belleville, ON – On February 28th 2020 at 4:41 p.m., city police attended to a home in the North Park Street and Bell Boulevard area for a reported theft of a generator.  The property, with an estimated value of $300.00, was stolen from the rear porch of the home.  An investigation is continuing.  Police are asking anyone who may have information about this theft to please contact investigating officer Cst. Traffic enforcement

Belleville, ON – On February 28th 2020 at 6:46 p.m., city police conducted a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Village Drive and College Street West.  This investigation led to 29-year old city man Glenn Switzer being charged under the Highway Traffic Act.  Switzer was issued part III summonses for the offences of driving without insurance, driving while suspended, and using unauthorized licence plates.  He was released to appear in Provincial Offences Court on March 20th 2020.

 Impaired driving arrest

Belleville, ON – On February 28th 2019 at 10:10 p.m., city police responded to a complaint of a male staggering, possibly intoxicated at a convenience store in the Bridge Street East area.  The man then left the store, and drove away in his motor vehicle.  A description was given to police, and the vehicle was located and stopped in the area of the Bayview Mall.  An investigation led to the arrest of 26-year old city man Andrew Bulkiewicz.  He has been charged with operation while impaired and with having a blood alcohol concentration of over 80mgs.  Bulkiewicz has been released on an undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on March 19th 2020.
