The Belleville Police responded to 43 calls for service between 5:00 a.m. on Feb 2nd, 2020 and 5:00 a.m. Feb 3rd, 2020.

Motor Vehicle Collision

Belleville, ON - On the 2nd of February 2020 at 2:28 p.m. Police responded to the area of North Front Street and Craig Street regarding a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported and one of the drivers was charged with failing to yield from a private road under the Highway Traffic Act.

Arrested on Warrants

Belleville, ON - On the 2nd of February 2020 at 9:35 p.m. Police initiated a traffic stop with a vehicle that ran a red light on Bridge Street East. Through Police investigation, it was revealed that the driver was wanted on warrants from Belleville and Cobourg. The 34-year-old Belleville man was released on the charges from his outstanding warrants and new charges stemming from the traffic violations. He was turned over to the Northumberland OPP where he was transported to Cobourg and is being held for bail.

Belleville, ON - On the 2nd of February 2020 at 10:50 p.m. Police initiated a traffic stop with a suspicious vehicle on Moira Street West. Through Police investigation, it was revealed that one of the passengers in the van was breaching multiple conditions of his Probation and was in the possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. As a result, the 38-year-old Belleville man was charged with Breach of Probation, Breach of Recognizance and CDSA Possession of a Schedule 1 substance. He is being held for a bail hearing.
