Belleville Police Service responded to 72 calls for service from the 31st of December 2019 at 5:00 a.m. to the 01st of January 2020 at 5:00 a.m.

Breach of Probation and Controlled Drug Offences

Belleville, ON – On the 31st of December at 4:30 a.m. police responded to a call in relation to a suspicious vehicle in the cities' core area where the occupants were reportedly doing drugs. Upon police checking the occupants, one male was found to be on probation not to be in the company of anyone with a criminal record. One of the other occupants was known to police to have a criminal record. Thirty-two year old Shea Walsh from Trenton was arrested and he was later released by Belleville Police on a form 10 with three charges, two counts of breaching his probation and possession of a controlled drug. The other two occupants, 38-year-old Travis Toddhunter and 37-year-old Lara Liddiard both of not fixed address were also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance after police located a small amount of cocaine in the vehicle. Both Toddhunter and Liddiard were also released on form 10’s. All parties were given court dates of January 23rd to answer to their charges.

Fail to remain accident

Belleville, ON – On the 31st of December between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. a vehicle that was parked in the Reid’s Dairy parking lot on Bell Blvd was struck and the suspect vehicle left. Prior to leaving, the driver left a note on the windshield of the vehicle that was hit with no name but a phone number. Unfortunately, due to the snow and rain the number was wet and faded to a point where it could not be readily identified at this time. Police are in the process of obtaining video from the plaza. Man arrested after disturbance.

Belleville, ON- On 1st. January at 01:10 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a North Front Street bar. On arrival, a male was observed running from the parking lot, and police were informed that he was involved in an altercation at the bar. Police located the male a short time later. A 20-year-old male from Colborne was arrested for public intoxication. There were no injuries in the fight.
