The Belleville Police Service responded to 53 calls for service from the 13th of January 2020 at 5:00 a.m. to the 14th of January 2020 at 5:00 a.m. 

Theft

Belleville, ON--On the 13th of January 2020 at 11:30 a.m. Belleville Police were dispatched to an East end Church regarding a theft of a wallet.  The suspects took off on foot prior to police arrival.  However, police were quickly able to locate the suspects and the stolen property in the area.  Forty-year-old Louise Hall of Belleville and thirty-three-year-old Michael Primeau of Belleville were both arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000.  Both accused were released on their own recognizance and will appear in court at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice on February 13th, 2020. 

Break & Enter

Belleville, ON—On the 13th of January 2020 at approximately 6 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence on Dundas St. E., regarding a possible break and enter.  City officers entered the residence and conducted a search of the home.  One adult male was located in the residence and was taken into custody for break and enter.  A fifty-year-old Belleville man was charged with 1 count of Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling Place and 1 count of Breach of Probation.  The accused was held for a Show Cause Hearing which is scheduled for the 14th of January 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Belleville Ontario Court of Justice. 

Theft

Belleville, ON--On the 13th of January 2020 at 11:00 p.m. Belleville Police were notified of a Theft of items out of a vehicle parked in the driveway of an East end residence.  A number of items were taken out of the vehicle.  Of particular note, numerous pieces of 1920’s vintage camera equipment was stolen.  Police are asking that if anyone has any information regarding this incident or the possible whereabouts of this vintage photography equipment to please contact Sgt Michael Lockwood at the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882 ext. 4088. 

The Belleville Police would like to remind our citizens to be prudent in securing their vehicles when parked and if possible, not to leave valuables in their automobiles.
