The Belleville Police responded to 67 calls for service between January 24th, 2020 at 5:00 a.m. and January 25th 2020 at 5:00 a.m.
Belleville, ON - On January 24th, 2020 at 8:30 p.m. police received a call about an erratic driver on North Front St. The suspect vehicle was followed by a citizen into the Quinte Mall parking lot. Officers arrived and spoke to the male driver. After a brief investigation the male was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Belleville Police station. The male refused to provide a breath sample. As a result, Joseph Lee, a 59- year- old male from Belleville was charged with one count of refusing to provide a breath sample. He has a court date on February 13th 2020. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
Belleville, ON – On January 25th, 2020 at 12:31 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on West Moira Street as the vehicle had a broken headlight. A check on the driver revealed that he was a suspended driver. A further check showed that he was wanted by the Kingston Police Service on warrants. The 50-year-old Kingston man was arrested on the strength of the Kingston warrants. He was turned over to officers with the Kingston Police Service. In addition, he was charged with driving while under suspension and driving with improper headlights. He will appear in Traffic Court on March 2nd, 2020. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Belleville, ON – On January 25th, 2020, at 4:25 a.m. an officer on patrol recognized a wanted male on Coleman Street. James David Smith, 40 years of age, of Belleville, was arrested on the strength of the warrant held by the Belleville Police Service. His charge was for failing to appear in court. He was released with a court date of February 20th, 2020.
