The Belleville Police Service responded to 64 calls from June 5th 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to June 6th 2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Breach of Probation

Belleville, ON – On the 5th of June 2021 at 5:15pm officers attended in the area of Highway 62 and Millennium Parkway for the report of a male acting erratically.  Upon arrival, police located a male throwing sticks at passing vehicles.  A 38 yr old male from Belleville was arrested and charged for breach of probation (3 counts).  He has a bail hearing this morning.

Police Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle

Belleville, ON – On the 5th of June 2021 at 10:15pm the OPP notified Belleville Police of a stolen vehicle on Hwy 401.  The vehicle exited at Hwy 37 and officers attempted to stop the vehicle on Cannifton Road without success – it sped away southbound at high speed.  Police did not continue to pursue the vehicle for public safety reasons.  Near the intersection of College St E and Moira St E the suspect vehicle hit another car and fled.  No injuries were reported in that crash.  About 11:15pm officers on patrol located the stolen vehicle abandoned near Moira St W.  BPS K9, ERT and patrol searched the area for the suspect.  No arrest has been made (yet).  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call Belleville Police or crime stoppers.
