The Belleville Police Service responded to 53 calls from June 6th 2021 at 5:00 a.m. to June 7th 2021 at 5:00 a.m.

Break, Enter and Theft

Belleville, ON – On June 6th 2021 at 6:54 a.m., police were called for a reported break-in at a Bleecker Avenue address.  The investigation revealed the front door to the home to have been kicked in, and property inside the residence was purposely damaged. This was reported to have occurred between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.  The unknown suspect(s) stole a television, a DVD player, five lap-tops, and a purse.  Investigation into the matter is continuing, and police are asking anyone who may have information about this to please contact investigating officer Cst. Collision Results in Charges

Belleville, ON – On June 6th 2021 at 2:05 pm., police were called to the area of Phillipson Road and Mudcat Road for a single motor vehicle collision.  An investigation revealed a motor vehicle to have left the highway, striking into the ditch. Airbags were deployed, and the vehicle was towed from the location.  A 38-year old Stirling, Ont., man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.  He faces the following Highway Traffic Act charges.

  • Careless driving – contrary to section 130(1)
  • Driving under suspension – contrary to section 53(1)
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle – contrary to section 7(5)(a)
  • Fail to surrender insurance card – contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, section 3(1).

The man was released on part 3 summonses with a traffic court date set for August 11th 2021.

Arrested on Warrants

Belleville, ON – On June 6th 2021 at 3:08 p.m., police observed a man, believed to be wanted in the Moira Street West and Elgin Street area.  This investigation confirmed there was outstanding warrants for the man under the Highway Traffic Act and the Criminal Code.  Police arrested 32-year old Ian Timothy Jeffery Beauchamp by way of arrest warrants on the following Highway Traffic Act charges:

  • Driver fail to surrender licence – contrary to section 33(1)
  • Driving under suspension – contrary to section 53(1)
  • Driver fail to give identification – contrary to section 33(3)

Beauchamp was also arrested on the following Criminal Code charges by way of arrest warrants:

    -  Attempt to obstruct justice – contrary to section 139(1)

- Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice (identity      fraud) – contrary to section 403(1)(d)          

- Failing to attend court as per undertaking – contrary to section 145(4)(b) – (2   counts).

Beauchamp has been released from custody on a Form 10 Undertaking, and is expected to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 4th 2021 at 09:00 a.m.
